Back to Reality

It is the last Saturday of the Christmas break....insert scary music sound track here.

No actually I love my job. I teach high school - and it is the best, most exhausting, most ridiculous job ever. Every day is a new adventure. But it means I have to get my ass in gear and get marking. Term one is almost over, and I need to get my marks ready. I love teaching. I don't love marking. Who loves marking? But you gotta do what you gotta do. I shouldn't tell you that I am currently teaching English, especially after writing "gotta". My dream is to teach food and nutrition. I think you probably could have guessed that. But there are not many (ANY) openings. In fact there are no openings in anything. I basically cover other teachers extended leaves. Welcome to being a teacher in Canada.

I like to do my marking on the floor with paper spread around everywhere. Organized chaos. Sometimes the dog thinks I am just warming up a nice cozy seat for her. As if.

Anywhooo. I have a remedy for getting through things like marking. Things we all have to do that maybe are not quite our favourites. Its called a rocket fuel latte. Because its like rocket fuel for your {insert task here}. And then you can zooom through it real fast. But not marking. That is never fast.

Recipe

  • 1.5 cups hot drink - there are soooo many choices. I alternate between matcha, dandy blend, rasa koffee, decaf coffee, and  four stigmatic hot cocoa.
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1 scoop collagen peptides
  • 1 tsp mct oil powder (makes it frothy)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (currently omitting for 21dsd, and not with the hot cocoa)
  • 2 tblsp coconut milk or cream
  • teeny sprinkle of Himalayan salt
  • Optional add ins: cinnamon, coconut butter, cacao powder, cacao butter. Experiment and make it yours!

Put everything in high powered blender. Blend. Pour. Enjoy.

When I make this I often skip breakfast because it is pretty filling. But then I add extra veggies to the rest of my day. But then sometimes I also eat breakfast. Sometimes I make this for dessert. Sometimes I make this and sip it at school all morning. Totally depends on how hungry I am. Just do you.
